Greater Cambridge Partnership Workshop Thu 16 Nov 6pm-8pm

District and Parish Councillors in South Cambridgeshire are invited to a workshop on the Greater Cambridge Partnership’s future funding plans.

The event, at South Cambs District Council Offices in Cambourne on Thursday 16 November is being held as part of GCP’s ‘Big Conversation’ - to raise awareness and engage on the key challenges to growth and quality of life in South Cambs and the city, with a view to identifying the key areas for future funding.

Delegates will hear, and have the chance to feedback on,  GCP’s emerging 10 year funding strategy which includes:

  • Contributing to the development of a greener, more sustainable transport network, linking existing and new communities as outlined in the Local Plans to key destinations including proposals to manage down congestion and improve air quality
  • Investing in the speedier delivery of more housing
  • Funding to assist addressing the skills gap, bringing forward more and relevant apprenticeship opportunities
  • Harnessing Smart technology to facilitate economic growth and quality of life.

The event, between 6pm and 8pm, will comprise a series of short presentations followed by facilitated round-table discussions and group feedback. The response will form part of a report to the Joint Assembly and Executive Board in the spring to be considered as part of the future GCP investment strategy.
