2.

Free Business Workshops

During autumn 2018 new and existing businesses are being given additional opportunities to attend FREE practical workshops at South Cambridgeshire District Council’s offices in Cambourne.

 

Residents who would like to start-up a business can attend a ‘First Steps to Start-up’ two day workshop (available dates: 10/11 September and 24/25 October).

                               

Business owners or managers who would like advice on growing their business can attend a ‘Growing your Business’ two day workshop (available date: 15/16 October).

 

Half day workshops on Marketing Strategy and Bookkeeping and Taxation are also available (available dates: 21 September and 2 November).

 

The advice and support will be provided by Nwes, one of the UK’s largest not-for-profit enterprise agencies.

 

Please could you promote this free opportunity to your networks. We are keen to ensure that as many local residents and businesses as possible sign up.

Community Right to Bid - Assets of Community Value

The Council has approved the listing of The Craft as an Asset of Community Value until 28 August 2023

 

The Council will update the asset register accordingly.

A14 CH2 Welly Walk pdf icon PDF 184 KB

The A14 is opening its site to hold a ‘Welly Walk’ in aid of Cancer Research on Sunday 9th September. There’s still time to get your wellies on and join us in our fight against cancer.

 

Places are limited and over 320 out of the 500 available have been booked already! Booking closes on 5th September.

 

Please do share with your parishioners, friends and families. Details of how to book a place are included in the flyer attached.

A14 C2H - Closure of the A14 at Bar Hill ( junction 29) pdf icon PDF 2 MB

The A14 at Bar Hill will be closed to through traffic (exception of local access) on the weekend of Friday 14 September (9pm) to Monday 17 September (6am) to allow us to install two new bridge decks as part of the new junction.

Arising from the results of the Member Communication Needs Survey, many members highlighted the fact that residents found out about SCDC matters through the media.

 

The Council’s Communications Team will produce a weekly summary of recent news items to be published in the Bulletin to help keep members informed of recent coverage of SCDC.

Saturday 25 August: Sky News Online Plastic bag tax will apply to every shop
The Prime Minister is expected to announce next week that the charge on plastic bags will be extended to all shops. The levy will double from 5p to 10p under the plans, which will reportedly be part of a white paper.

 

Monday 27 August: Times Dormant cash could revive deprived areas

Charities have produced a plan for a fund of up to £4.5 billion to support communities in deprived and remote areas that have missed out on economic growth.

View Planning Applications

To view the list of planning applications that have recently been submitted to the Council, please visit the authority’s on-line Planning Application Search.  Once the page has loaded, you can use the Search option to set your own criteria of parish, area and date range.

 

The system will provide a range of information on current and decided applications since 1948, including a brief description of the development, reference number, decision and the date of decision.  More recent applications show the name and telephone number of the council officer who is dealing with the application.

 

Search results are presented in a collection of pages, the number of which depends on the number of results your search produces.  There are navigation tools to allow you to browse your results.

 

 

 

EXECUTIVE DECISIONS TAKEN SINCE XXX [PREVIOUS BULLETIN DATE]

In accordance with the Access to Information Procedure Rules in Part 4 of the Council’s Constitution, any executive decision shall be published normally within five days of being made.  That record will bear the date on which it is published and will specify that the decision will come into force, and may then be implemented, on the expiry of 5 working days after the publication of the decision, unless called in for review by the Chairman of the Scrutiny and Overview Committee or by any five other councillors.
