New Online Toolkit for Tackling Social Isolation and Loneliness

A new toolkit aimed at individuals and groups concerned about loneliness was published on the Council website this week.  The toolkit includes case studies of a range of successful local projects plus advice, guidance and signposting to local sources of help and funding for setting up new projects.

Community Right to Bid - Assets of Community Value

The Council has approved the listing of The Orchard Tea Garden as an Asset of Community Value until 01 October 2023

The Government will scrap the cap on the amount local authorities can borrow against their Housing Revenue Account assets, Theresa May has announced.

 

Friday 5 October: Telegraph: Green Belt suffering due to housing targets

New statistics show England’s Green Belt has suffered its biggest reduction in eight years with more than 5,000 hectares lost after councils removed protections on land to meet government housing targets.

View Planning Applications

To view the list of planning applications that have recently been submitted to the Council, please visit the authority’s on-line Planning Application Search.  Once the page has loaded, you can use the Search option to set your own criteria of parish, area and date range.

 

The system will provide a range of information on current and decided applications since 1948, including a brief description of the development, reference number, decision and the date of decision.  More recent applications show the name and telephone number of the council officer who is dealing with the application.

 

Search results are presented in a collection of pages, the number of which depends on the number of results your search produces.  There are navigation tools to allow you to browse your results.

 

 

 

EXECUTIVE DECISIONS TAKEN SINCE 3 OCTOBER 2018

In accordance with the Access to Information Procedure Rules in Part 4 of the Council’s Constitution, any executive decision shall be published normally within five days of being made.  That record will bear the date on which it is published and will specify that the decision will come into force, and may then be implemented, on the expiry of 5 working days after the publication of the decision, unless called in for review by the Chairman of the Scrutiny and Overview Committee or by any five other councillors.

2018-19 Q1 Position Statement: Performance, Finance and Risk

Having reviewed the provisional forecast outturn position and key performance exceptions (as identified by Corporate Management Team on 8 August 2018), and risk issues contained in the report from the Head of Finance and appendices B-E attached thereto, determined, where appropriate, any actions, including redeployment of resources, required to address issues identified, and having noted the Strategic Risk Register at Appendix F, Cabinet  Approved the suite of Key Performance Indicators, previously agreed by Executive Management Team, attached at Appendix A.

Local Development Scheme

Following adoption of the South Cambridgeshire Local Plan, Cabinet

 

(a)          Adopted the new Local Development Scheme for Greater Cambridge, prepared jointly with Cambridge City Council, such Scheme confirming the intention to prepare:

 

(i)            a joint Local Plan for Greater Cambridge, comprising the administrative areas of both Councils

 

(ii)           a joint Cambridge Northern Fringe Area Action Plan (AAP), for the area shown in the Local Development Scheme which, when adopted as the AAP, will form part of the development plan for Greater Cambridge

 

both (i) and (ii) above to be prepared under section 28 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended) with separate democratic processes to agree both plans, informed by a joint member advisory group; and

 

(b)          granted to the Joint Director of Planning and Economic Development delegated authority, in liaison with the Deputy Leader, to make any editing changes identified prior to publication.

Brexit Advisory Group - Terms of Reference

(a)          Approved the terms of reference for the Brexit Advisory Group, as set out at Appendix A to the report from the Executive Director; and

 

(b)          Invited Cambridge City Council to appoint three representatives to serve as co-opted members of the Advisory Group.
