The Resident Involvement Team produces a monthly e-newsletter for our housing tenants and leaseholders. This month we are focusing on our Covid19 Kindness campaign encouraging people to thank neighbours, volunteer and staff for their support during the pandemic. Friday 5 June: Guardian: Gypsies and Travellers “left without water during lockdown”

Gypsy and Traveller Families in England have no access to sanitation, refuse collection, or water for drinking, cooking, showering and washing clothes, an all-party parliamentary group has said to the LGA.

 

Saturday 6 June: BBC Online: Ban on evictions extended

Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick has announced a two-month extension to the Government’s ban on evicting renters during COVID-19.

 

Monday 8 June: Guardian: Funding cuts have left UK arts vulnerable – report

A report by the National Campaign for Arts has said that the British arts institutions have been hit with a “triple whammy” of funding cuts since 2008.

 

Wednesday 10 June: Telegraph: Jenrick: Rip up planning red tape to spur house building

The Housing Secretary has called for a rethink of the “overly bureaucratic” planning system, with reform seen as a key part of the Government’s economic recovery plan.

To view the list of planning applications that have recently been submitted to the Council, please visit the authority’s on-line Planning Application Search. 

 

The system will provide a range of information on current and decided applications since 1948, including a brief description of the development, reference number, decision and the date of decision.  More recent applications show the name and telephone number of the council officer who is dealing with the application.

 

Search results are presented in a collection of pages, the number of which depends on the number of results your search produces.  There are navigation tools to allow you to browse your results.

In accordance with the Access to Information Procedure Rules in Part 4 of the Council’s Constitution, any executive decision shall be published normally within five days of being made.  That record will bear the date on which it is published and will specify that the decision will come into force, and may then be implemented, on the expiry of 5 working days after the publication of the decision, unless called in for review by the Chairman of the Scrutiny and Overview Committee or by any five other councillors.

Addendum to Greater Cambridge Statement of Community Involvement in light of Covid-19 Restrictions

The Leader and the Lead Cabinet Member for Planning AGREED to adopt the Addendum to the Greater Cambridge Statement of Community Involvement 2019.

 

This decision was first published on 5 June and so the deadline for call-in is 5pm on 12 June.

Provision of 3 no. affordable dwellings at Linton Road, Great Abington

The Lead Cabinet Member for Housing AGREED to enter into Heads of Terms followed thereafter by a JCT contract for the build of the 3 affordable homes and a land contract and transfer to purchase for site for the 3 affordable homes at Linton Road, Great Abington.

 

This decision was first published on 4 June and so the deadline for call-in is 5pm on 11 June.
