Please find attachedroad closures information for w/c 20 July, in relation to the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme.

3.

Work begins next month to upgrade our streetlights to low-energy LEDs

Works to upgrade all South Cambridgeshire District Council standard streetlights to low-energy LEDs will begin in August and be completed by March 2021.  The upgrade will benefit communities and the environment by reducing the energy used by our streetlights by 60%, improving the quality of the lighting and reducing light pollution.

Thursday 16 July, Telegraph, Planning reforms “will ride roughshod over local areas”

An LGA letter – signed by 15 other organisations – including the Town and Country Planning Association and the Institute of Historic Building Conservation – have urged the Government to keep planning in England local to ensure people have a say over development in their communities.

Wednesday 22 July, BBC Online: Home owners in England permitted to add two extra floors

Home owners will soon be allowed to add an extra two floors to their houses without requiring full planning permission, and developers will be able to demolish unused commercial premises and build residential units.

To view the list of planning applications that have recently been submitted to the Council, please visit the authority’s on-line Planning Application Search. 

 

The system will provide a range of information on current and decided applications since 1948, including a brief description of the development, reference number, decision and the date of decision.  More recent applications show the name and telephone number of the council officer who is dealing with the application.

 

Search results are presented in a collection of pages, the number of which depends on the number of results your search produces.  There are navigation tools to allow you to browse your results.

In accordance with the Access to Information Procedure Rules in Part 4 of the Council’s Constitution, any executive decision shall be published normally within five days of being made.  That record will bear the date on which it is published and will specify that the decision will come into force, and may then be implemented, on the expiry of 5 working days after the publication of the decision, unless called in for review by the Chairman of the Scrutiny and Overview Committee or by any five other councillors.

Provision of 36 Affordable Dwellings at Bennell Farm, Toft

The Lead Cabinet Member for Housing AGREED to make amendments to the Land Transfer Deed, as legally required.

 

This decision was first published on 17 July and so the deadline for call-in is 24 July at 5pm.

Approval of five Topics Papers as supporting evidence for Draft North East Cambridge Area Action Plan which is due to go out to consultation between 27 July 2020 and 5 October 2020

The Deputy Leader of Council AGREED the five Topic Papers appended to this decision in support of the draft North East Cambridge Area Action Plan.

 

This decision was first published on 16 July and so the deadline for call-in is 23 July at 5pm.

Consultation response to the Cambridgeshire Autonomous Metro (CAM) Sub Strategy

The Leader of Council AGREED to confirm that the letter and detailed response set out in Appendix 1 of this decision should be made to the Combined Authority on the CAM Sub Strategy.

Local Authority Discretionary Grant Funding for Small Businesses Policy

The Chief Executive

1.    Approved the updated Local Authority Discretionary Grant Funding for Small Businesses Policy.

2.    Endorsed previous operational decisions of the Chief Finance Officer to award grants in accordance with Government guidance.

3.    Authorised the Chief Finance Officer to approve future individual discretionary grants for small businesses up to £10,000.
