At the Meeting of the Grants Advisory Committee on 29 April 2022, it was proposed that the amount of Community Chest funding available be raised. The Lead Member for Finance was present. With consideration to the number of Queen’s Platinum Jubilee applications to the scheme, the Committee (in consultation with the Lead Member for Finance) was in favour. It was suggested that the funding available for Community Chest Grants Scheme be increased by £21,894.72 from £61,768.83 to £83,663.55. Alternative existing and available communities funding will be used to cover the increase in Community Chest due to the Jubilee related grants.
To increase the funding available for the Community Chest Grant Scheme by £21,894.72 from £61,768.83 to £83,663.55
It was agreed at the Grants Advisory Committee meeting (with the Lead Member for Finance present) that with the number of Queen’s Platinum Jubilee applications received, it would be advisable to make more funding available to the scheme to enable all projects to be funded.
Option 1: To maintain the Community Chest Grant fund at the original level- £61,768.83.
This would not have allowed the Grants Advisory Committee to recommend that the Lead Cabinet Member for Finance fund the range and breadth of applications that were received.
