Purpose:

The Council at its meeting held on 21 May 2020 approved and adopted the new Constitution of South Cambridgeshire District Council. The Council agreed to authorise the Chief Executive, after consultation with the Chair of the Council, to make any further typographical or minor amendments to the Constitution prior to publication.

 

The Chief Executive, after consultation with the Chair, has now agreed to make the further amendments to the Constitution listed in the appendix to this decision notice, prior to publication. For completeness, the Leader of the Council and Vice-Chair of the Civic Affairs Committee, who also chaired the Constitution Review Task and Finish Group, and the Monitoring Officer were also consulted upon the proposed changes.

Decision:

Following consultation with the Chair of the Council,  in exercise of the authority delegated by Council at its meeting held on 21 May 2020, the Chief Executive approves the making of the amendments to the Constitution shown in the appendix to this decision notice.

Reasons for the decision:

To correct typographical errors and make other minor changes to reflect factual errors, updates or inconsistencies which need to be made prior to publication of the Constitution.
