Decision details

The purpose of this decision is to permit the Council to enter a licence agreement with L&Q Estates, thus securing land within the Phase 1 northern greenway to install two table tennis tables to serve as a public amenity. The licenced area proposed (the site) was identified following a community engagement process.

To enter into a licence agreement with L&Q Estates to occupy the site in the Northern Greenway, identified through the public engagement process.

To enable the Council to provide a public amenity (two table tennis tables) on land secured under the licence agreement.

Options considered included to leave the tables at their temporary location within the Education Campus (within Phase 2 of the development), where they are used by secondary school children. This was rejected because the table tennis tables would not then be available, as intended, to the whole community to support health and wellbeing across the life course in Phase 1 Northstowe.
