Under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 SCDC needs to have a guidance document on our website which details how someone who has been impacted by anti-social behaviour can have their case reviewed if they are dissatisfied with actions that have been taken. There are qualifying criteria for who can ask for a Community Trigger and this information is in the guidance document, the document also covers actions we will take from assessing whether the threshold for the Community Trigger (anti-social behaviour review) is met, to actions we will take for the review to take place. The guidance has been developed with the help and support of ASBHelp.
To support the Community Trigger guidance document.
To ensure that our residents know that they can use the Community Trigger and give guidance on the process.
To ensure that SCDC is complaint with relevant legislative requirements.
Option 1: Do nothing
It is a legal requirement for SCDC to have this guidance document on our website, if we do not we could be open to judicial review. There is some information on the website but it does not supply all the information that we should have accessible to our residents.
