Decision:

AGREED to take a report to Cabinet seeking the adoption of the Horningsea Appraisal as Council Policy (subject to incorporating the changes outlined in the report presented to Conservation Advisory Group on 25 January 2006). 

Reasons for the decision:

Adoption of the Appraisal as Council Policy will give it status for consideration in planning applications for developments affecting the Conservation Area. 

Alternative options considered:

Option 1:

To take a report to Cabinet seeking the adoption of the Horningsea Appraisal as Council Policy (subject to incorporating the changes outlined in the report presented to Conservation Advisory Group).  Agree

 

Reasons:

Adoption of the Appraisal as Council Policy will give it status for consideration in planning applications for developments affecting the Conservation Area.

 

Option 2:

To require officers to prepare a revised draft appraisal incorporating revisions to the boundaries of the proposed Conservation Area.  Disagree

 

Reasons:

The proposed boundaries for the Conservation Area are appropriate.
