Purpose:

To inform the Portfolio Holder of the progress of the local air quality management regime and subsequent results of the review and assessment process.

 

To seek agreement from the Portfolio Holder for the declaration of an air quality management area adjacent to the A14 corridor between the Bar Hill and Milton intersections. 

Decision:

The Portfolio Holder ENDORSED the report on the detailed assessment of nitrogen dioxide and AGREED to the commencement of the consultation on the proposed air quality management boundary area and that an Air Quality Management Area, adjacent to the A14 corridor between the Bar Hill and Milton intersections would be declared following any comments received during the consultation exercise.

Reasons for the decision:

There is the likelihood that national air quality targets will be breached.
