The Environmental Services Portfolio Holder
a) endorsed the RECAP response to the Stage One consultation paper on the transposition of the revised Waste Framework Directive (Directive2008/98/EC) outlined in this report.
b) noted the approach and result of the Council’s strategic review of refuse and recycling service was entirely consistent with the provisions of the revised WFD.
c) confirmed his support for local democracy.
Decision taken 9 November and published 10 November 2009. Call-in expires at 5 pm on 17 November 2009. Decision can be implemented from 18 November 2009 if not called-in.

The Environmental Services Portfolio Holder considered a report on the RECAP (Recycling in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough) response to the Stage One consultation paper, issued jointly by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and the Welsh Assembly Government, on the transposition of the revised Waste Framework Directive (WFD).
The Portfolio Holder asked the Corporate Manager (Health and Environmental Services) to stress to DEFRA his support for local democracy.
