APPOINTMENTS TO OUTSIDE BODIES
Following the resignation from Council of David Morgan, to appoint:
(a) a Trustee to Mepal Outdoor Centre; and
(b) a representative to Environmental Protection UK (formerly the National Society for Clean Air and Environmental Protection),
Appointments are made until the end of the appointee’s term of office.
Decision:
Council RESOLVED to appoint:
(a) Councillor Simon Edwards as a Trustee to Mepal Outdoor Centre until May 2012; and
(b) the Environmental Services Portfolio Holder as the authority’s representative on Environmental Protection UK (formerly the National Society for Clean Air and Environmental Protection) until May 2014.

Volunteers having agreed to serve as the Council’s representatives, Council RESOLVED to appoint:
(a) Councillor Simon Edwards as a Trustee to Mepal Outdoor Centre until May 2012; and

The Leader has appointed Councillor Mrs Bridget Smith as the Liberal Democrat Group substitute representative on the South Cambridgeshire Traffic Management Area Joint Committee.
This decision was taken and published on Monday 10 January 2011. Call-in expires at 5 pm on Monday 17 January 2011. The decision can be implemented from Tuesday 18 January 2011 if not called-in.

TO MAKE TWO APPOINTMENTS TO THE SOUTH CAMBRIDGESHIRE DIRECT LABOUR ORGANISATION (DLO) MANAGEMENT BOARD
Council is asked to appoint two Members to the South Cambridgeshire Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) Management Board. Councillors Richard Barrett and Hazel Smith have been attending Board meetings for several years without formal appointment and are willing to continue as the Council’s Member representatives.
Decision:
Council RESOLVED to appoint Councillors Richard Barrett and Hazel Smith to the South Cambridgeshire Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) Management Board for the remainder of their current terms of office.
Minutes:
Council considered a request to make a formal appointment of two councillors to the Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) Management Board. Councillors Richard Barrett and Hazel Smith had already been attending these meetings without formal appointment.
On the proposal of Councillor Ray Manning, seconded by Councillor Simon Edwards, Council RESOLVED to appoint Councillors Richard Barrett and Hazel Smith to the South Cambridgeshire Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) Management Board for the remainder of their current terms of office.

Minutes:
Councillor David Morgan was proposed by Councillor Ray Manning and Councillor Bridget Smith was proposed by Council Sebastian Kindersley as the representative on the National Society for Clean Air and Environmental Protection. A vote was held and, with twenty-nine votes in favour and twenty-four votes against, it was RESOLVED that Councillor David Morgan serve as the authority’s representative on the National Society for Clean Air and Environmental Protection.
