Council Tax Discretionary Reductions Policy

Cabinet AGREED to approve the Council Tax Discretionary Reduction 13a Policy as set out in Appendix to the report from the Head of Finance.

By affirmation, Cabinet approved the Council Tax Discretionary Reduction 13a Policy as set out in Appendix B to the report from the Head of Finance.

Minutes:

Cabinet considered a report outlining a refreshed policy and decision-making process for assessing applications for a discretionary reduction in Council Tax, under Section13A of the Local Government Finance Act 1992.

 

Noting that assessments would be made by the Head of Finance, with applicants having a right of appeal, Councillor Heather Williams said that the process had to be applied with a degree of flexibility where appropriate.
