Community Chest: Funding Applications PDF 250 KB Additional documents: Minutes: On Friday 18 December 2020 the Grants Advisory Committee reviewed all Community Chest applications received between 17 October and 4 December 2020.
Five applications were brought forward in ‘Appendix A’ of the reports pack for the Friday 18 December 2020 Grants Advisory Committee.
After consideration of these applications, the Committee recommended to the Lead Cabinet Member for Finance that four of the applications be funded:
Meldreth Primary School PTA (BXGHGDNF) £1,000 Cambridge Past, Present & Future (CBBGGJPX) £1000.00 Ladybird Playgroup (JCLJLMZT) £1000 Haslingfield Little Owls Preschool (PWRTXTBW) £924.25
After consideration of these applications, the Committee recommended to the Lead Cabinet Member for Finance that one of the applications not be funded:
Thriplow School PTA (QMBLDGQV) £984.87.

Service Support Grant - 6 Month Update PDF 1 MB Minutes: Officers provided an update to the committee on the Quarter 1 & Quarter 2 performance for those organisations in receipt of greater than £15,000 per annum, unless otherwise requested by the Committee, such as the Farmland Museum.
There was special mention from the Committee for the work done by the Farmland Museum and their attempts to modernise their business model since lockdown.
The Committee also noted the work carried out by the Citizens Advice Bureau with providing support and advice to those affected by Covid-19. It was agreed that Lesley McFarlane would send a letter to the Citizens Advice Bureau from the Grants Advisory Committee thanking them for all of the work and support that they had provided during the Covid-19 pandemic.
From April onwards the Community Development team collated information on Parish Councils and informal mutual aid groups to understand the support offered to neighbours and communities across South Cambridgeshire. It was agreed that officers would make Members aware of the efforts by the Community Development team to develop a profile of informal group activity across South Cambridgeshire.
It was agreed that officers would try to promote Council funding of popular schemes, such as the Fulbourn Community Car Scheme.
