One-off fund to Support Older People PDF 142 KB Additional documents: Minutes: The Grants Advisory Committee had agreed an uplift to the normal funding amounts over this financial period to provide further support and to build capacity in existing Mobile Warden Schemes following the Covid Pandemic in 2020. It was noted that there was a remaining sum of c. £30,000 which, it was intimated, could be directed towards other programmes and initiatives to support older people to live independently and improve their quality of life. Such programmes would place a particular emphasis on psychological and physical rehabilitation throughout the Covid recovery period. It was commented that this should include vulnerable and disabled people rather than just older people due to the effects on their mental health.
It was agreed that the one-off support grant would not be created and that instead, the ~£30,000 would be subsumed into the existing Service Support Grant budget, which would be reviewed in the 2021/22 financial year, ready for new applicants in 2022.
It was agreed that the distribution of the ~£30,000 would be discussed and decided upon at the workshop in July. |
