Member Workshop - Improving Homes On Monday, 4th March 2019 at 4.00pm in the Council Chamber a Member workshop is being held to explore the role the Council can play in improving homes across the District. We know the importance that housing can play in promoting physical and mental health and wellbeing, as well as its role in terms of making South Cambridgeshire a 'greener' sustainable place to live; and we want to ensure that the resources we have available are targeted appropriately. With a new county-wide Repairs and Adaptations Policy being considered by Cabinet in April, this will give us flexiblity to be more creative with the funding we have available. The workshop will be interactive, where you will have the chance to hear what we currently do, the role of the Home Improvement Agency and discuss opportunities for new projects.
Also, as part of the workshop and in the context of improving homes, we want to introduce the work beginning on refocusing our improvement plans for our own council stock. This will be a short session at the end of the workshop as a kickstart to developing a new Asset Management Strategy. It is envisaged that a further more detailed workshop will be held following this to help develop the Strategy.
If you wish to attend, please could you email julie.fletcher@scambs.gov.uk |
