INFORMATION FOR DISTRICT COUNCILLORS AND PARISH COUNCILS |

Traveller Encampments Advice As we approach Summer please could we take this opportunity to remind Parishes, particularly those previously affected, of the need to take appropriate measures to protect parish land such as car parks, recreation land etc. from illegal encampments. It is important to note the distinction between civil trespass and the criminal offence of damage which does not automatically give rise to section 61.
The
Police have discretionary power under Section 61 and 62 of the
Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 which empowers the
senior officer present to direct people to leave land if certain
criteria are met.
Plus one of the following three conditions must also be met:

Cambourne Science Festival 2019 PDF 540 KB Cambourne Science Festival has created a unique platform where we have children demonstrating and explaining their homemade Science Projects to the public. The young budding scientists aged 5 years to 16 years take initiatives to engage with the public by demonstrating and answering the questions. The festival is well attended by over 500 visitors. Around 36 children came along with their projects in 2016, 64 children exhibited their projects in 2017 and last year we had 72 children. We have children from London, Manchester and Cambridgeshire town and villages. Our mission is to provide students with a gateway to cultivate students' inquisitive nature, exercise innovation, think critically, and collaborate to become tomorrow’s innovators who are self-sufficient learners.
Cambourne Science Festival is free to the public and is organised by CamCare UK, which is a "non-profit" charity registered in England. We acknowledge the support of Cambourne Parish Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council to conduct this annual festival.
This Science Festival is a service to the local community and its positive impact is felt by many enthusiast parents and children in our local community. We request you to help us inspire the next generation by encouraging the children and disseminating the information about the event in your ward and local community.
Please find attached the poster of the Festival.
Kind regards, Shrobona Bhattacharya PhD MSc BSc Cambourne Science Festival Organiser CamCare UK |
