Commemoration of 75th Anniversary of VE Day - Extended Deadline for Grants

Communities are invited to apply for up to £1,000 to mark the 75^th anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day on Friday 8 May. The deadline for applications has been extended to 15 March. More details are available from the Council’s website:

It is reported that the Government will consider radical plans to scrap business rates and replace them with a land value tax in a bid to save struggling high streets.

One if five local authorities do not recycle certain types of plastics at all, leaving some residents having to put plastic in the rubbish bin despite wanting to recycle more.

The system will provide a range of information on current and decided applications since 1948, including a brief description of the development, reference number, decision and the date of decision. More recent applications show the name and telephone number of the council officer who is dealing with the application.
