Sustainability Master Planning for Village Communities

Janet Hall from Swaffham Prior is keen to hear from communities to wanting to produce; a sustainability focussed neighbourhood plan, a carbon reduction plan (as asset improvements / changing patterns of use / management plans / communication plan to village); or a simple resource plan of villages for use in procuring further funding or sustainability development. If you think you could benefit from assistance, please contact ZCC@scambs.gov.uk

3.

Do you have a site in your parish/ward which would be suitable for installation of one or more electric vehicle charge-points for taxis?

The Council has funding for a limited number of these through the government ‘s ULEV scheme. The charge-points would be available exclusively by taxis for a maximum of three years, after which this restriction would be removed and they would be available to all.

To be suitable the site needs to be:

·         In a car park, or already-established parking area (so as to limit ground works requirements)

·         Accessible 24 hours a day

·         Close to local amenities suitable for taxi drivers to stop for up to one hour for breaks and vehicle recharging

Preferably it would also be:

·         Close to areas which are likely drop off and pick up points for the taxi trade

·         On council owned land (parish, district or county - to reduce any potential delays over site ownership)

Any potential sites will be subject to a feasibility study to establish scope of works, including electrical connections and costs, which will be carried out by the Council and will determine whether a site can proceed to installation.

Please contact jane.jackson@scambs.gov.uk with details of potential sites as soon as possible and by 7 October latest.
