Information for District Councillors and Parish Councils

Amendments to parish council/meeting announcement for S211 tree work notices and TPO tree work applications

At the request of some local parish councils, Jane Green and the trees team have reviewed the letters which are sent out to the parish councils/meetings announcing a new S211 tree works notice or TPO tree works application has been received and being considered. The letter has been amended to give a clearer indication as to:

·         If the case is a S211 tree works notice or a TPO tree works application,

·         If the Council consider it minor tree works which should receive an outcome without delay or if it is a greater amount of tree works which will require review, and

·         A clear but limited period in which people can comment on cases via the website.

Previously, the parish councils/meetings were notified at the point of validation but from now on, they will be sent at the point of initial triage (where cases are identified as being either major or minor).

Over the next few months we hope to provide some remote training to give a little more basic information about tree work cases to those that are interested, and review the new system in six months’ time (June/July) to see how the councils/meetings like the new system and make any adjustments as necessary.

Please let planning.trees@scambs.gov.uk know if you have any further queries about this issue or change.
