Community Right to Bid - Assets of Community Value

Following an Internal Review, the Council has made the following decision and will amend the asset register accordingly:

 

Sluice Woods, Little Abington – as of 13 October 2021, Sluice Woods has been removed from the list of Assets of Community Value.

Post-Covid Community Support Workshop 22 Nov 6-7 pm

We are keen to support, facilitate and enable all parishes and community groups to continue their work Post-Covid.

 

Our online workshop will provide an opportunity to find out more about the Post-Covid Community support we are providing to all Community groups and parish councils within South Cambridgeshire. Included in the session will be local case studies, information on how to start a Community Led Plan as well as a Q&A session.

 

Details of the agenda and how to book a place will be circulated in the coming week. Please contact us on CLP@scambs.gov.uk with any questions related to Community-led plans.

The Environment Bill is heading back to the House of Commons after peers made 14 amendments to the Bill, including a demand for Government to declare a biodiversity and climate change emergency, improve protection for ancient woodland and to eliminate sewage discharges into rivers.

New gas boilers could be banned from 2035 and families are set to be offered £5,000 grants to buy heat pumps for their home, according to reports.

 

Saturday 16 October, Times: Pledge to slash cost of green heat pump

Ministers are expected to commit to bringing down the cost of a heat pump to that of a new gas boiler by the end of the decade, under plans to decarbonise home heating.

The Government has published its Net-Zero Strategy in a bid to dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions to reach a target of net zero by 2050.

To view the list of planning applications that have recently been submitted to the Council, please visit the authority’s on-line Planning Application Search. 

 

The system will provide a range of information on current and decided applications since 1948, including a brief description of the development, reference number, decision and the date of decision.  More recent applications show the name and telephone number of the council officer who is dealing with the application.

 

Search results are presented in a collection of pages, the number of which depends on the number of results your search produces.  There are navigation tools to allow you to browse your results.

 

 

 

Executive Decisions Taken Since Wednesday 13 October 2021

In accordance with the Access to Information Procedure Rules in Part 4 of the Council’s Constitution, any executive decision shall be published normally within five days of being made.  That record will bear the date on which it is published and will specify that the decision will come into force, and may then be implemented, on the expiry of 5 working days after the publication of the decision, unless called in for review by the Chairman of the Scrutiny and Overview Committee or by any five other councillors.

8.

Cambridgeshire Council Tax Compliance and Counter-Fraud Initiative

Cabinet:

 

a)    Approved the business case shown in Appendix A, providing agreement to proceed with the project.

b)    Delegated authority for signing any required agreements as part of this project to the Chief Finance Officer, in consultation with the Lead Cabinet Member for Finance.

 

This decision was first published on 19 October and so the deadline for call-in is 5 pm on Tuesday 26 October.

9.

North East Cambridge "In Principle" Commitment to Delivery of AAP

Cabinet:

 

a)    Noted that the North East Cambridge Area Action Plan is contingent upon the separate Development Control Order being undertaken by Anglian Water for the relocation of the Waste Water Treatment Plant being approved;

b)    Agreed that the Council is committed to the delivery of the North East Cambridge Area Action Plan, including land disposal or assembly, and subject to formal adoption of the Area Action Plan in due course, to use its Compulsory Purchase Orders powers if required.

 

This decision was first published on 19 October and so the deadline for call-in is Tuesday 26 October at 5 pm.
