Community Growing Small Grant Additional documents: Minutes: The Development Officer (Health) presented the report on behalf of the Cost of Living Project Officer (Chris Riches). In response to Member questions, officers advised that the Committee that the recommendation was to delegate authority to officers to award funding, allowing for funds to be released quickly to successful applicants. Members agreed that the approach was sensible given the seasonal nature of the projects eligible for the proposed grant. Officers also clarified that non-constituted community groups were eligible for the proposed grant but required support from their local Parish Council.
By affirmation, the Committee recommended that the Lead Cabinet Member for Resources adopt the Community Growing Small Grant as a new policy, subject to the guidance as proposed in Appendix A of the report. The Committee agreed that it was appropriate to grant authority to officers to make decisions regarding the awarding of funding. |
