Committee details

The Planning Policy and Localism Portfolio Holder has responsibility for:

   Planning and Strategic Transport

   Liaison with Parishes

   Community Groups / Voluntary Sector

   Development of New and Existing Communities

   Children and Young People

Meetings are open to the public and all members of the Council are invited to attend; Scrutiny and Overview Committee Monitor (Councillor Bridget Smith) and Opposition Spokesman (Councillor Janet Lockwood) receive specific invitations to all meetings, but attendance is not mandatory.  Only the Portfolio Holder has the authority to make any decisions, and only the Portfolio Holder’s presence, or the Leader’s presence if the Portfolio Holder is unable to attend, is required for the meeting to be quorate.
