Committee details

When the New Communities Portfolio Holder’s meeting is held on the same day as the Planning Portfolio Holder’s meeting, the New Communities Portfolio Holder’s meeting will start at the time advertised or upon completion of the Planning Portfolio Holder’s meeting, whichever is the later.

The New Communities Portfolio Holder has responsibility for:

   Arts

   Development of New Communities

   Planning Policy

   Sports

   Sustainability

   tackling Climate Change

   2012 Olympics

Meetings are open to the public and all members of the Council are invited to attend; Scrutiny and Overview Committee Monitors and Opposition Spokesmen receive specific invitations to all meetings, but attendance is not mandatory.  Only the Portfolio Holder has the authority to make any decisions, and only the Portfolio Holder’s presence, or the Leader’s presence if the Portfolio Holder is unable to attend, is required for the meeting to be quorate.
