At the Meeting of the Grants Advisory Committee on 29 April 2022, it was proposed that the amount of Community Chest funding available be raised.  The Lead Member for Finance was present.  With consideration to the number of Queen’s Platinum Jubilee applications to the scheme, the Committee (in consultation with the Lead Member for Finance) was in favour.  It was suggested that the funding available for Community Chest Grants Scheme be increased by £21,894.72 from £61,768.83 to £83,663.55. Alternative existing and available communities funding will be used to cover the increase in Community Chest due to the Jubilee related grants.

On 29 April 2022 the Grants Advisory Committee reviewed all Community Chest applications received between 8 March 2022 and 12 April 2022.

After consideration of these applications, the Committee recommended to the Lead Cabinet Member for Finance that:

2.     Gamlingay Leisure (Community Gym and MUGA) (ZHHDQWFH) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000

3.     Active with Parkinson's Cambs (GWPXHSXX) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £1,000

4.     Friends of Barrington School (ZWDBZMLP) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000

5.     Cambridge Open Art Exhibition (COAX) (WCFDWPBS) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £1,128.49

6.     Melbourn Playgroup and Out of School Club (VJGRCZZW) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £2,000

7.     Lolworth Parish Meeting (CKWLCCNG) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £1,716

8.     Landbeach Village Hall (XDRLMMGD) be approved and funded at the full amount requested of £569.95

9.     Waterbeach Parish Council (CHBTSNTM) is not funded but deferred as detailed below.

To accept the recommendations of the Grants Advisory Committee (see above).

·       Gamlingay Leisureis awarded funding provided; however, this is on the condition that the other match funding request stated on the application form is also successful, and that Gamlingay Leisure has the ability to continue after the current lease with Cam Academy trust ends.

·       Longstowe Parish Council is awarded funding provided the defibrillator is located on the outside of a building which is fully accessible at all times, and that the defibrillator is fully registered.

·       Balsham Trinity Church Flower Arrangers Group is awarded funding provided an alternative Jubilee-related project can be found which has a lasting legacy and is of the same value.

·       Landbeach Village Hall is awarded funding provided the halogen heater detailed in the application is substituted for an infrared heater.

·       The application from Waterbeach Parish Council (CHBTSNTM) requesting £2,000 has been deferred, pending confirmation of the number of children who will benefit from the play equipment both now and in the future and further information on the maintenance measures currently in place for the equipment.
