I have really enjoyed being District Councillor for Swavesey for the last 5 years and feel I have been fortunate in being part of the controlling administration.

I have lived in the parish of Swavesey since I was 4 years old. I went to Lolworth Primary School and via the railway to Cambridge to school and Technical College. I joined the local Young Farmers at 11 and moved to the Cottenham Young Farmers when I met my future husband. Both my children went to Swavesey Primary School and the Village College.

I am currently Portfolio Holder for Environmental Services which covers a range of services provided by the council from refuse and recycling to licensing and food safety; awarded water courses to health and safety; street cleaning to graffitti; and from noise pollution to healthy living. Very interesting and hard work, especially as this governement is making significant changes in many of these areas.
