Purpose:

To allocate grants to a number of Mobile Warden Schemes as part of the Council’s scheme of grants to the Voluntary Sector. 

Decision:

To award the Mobile Warden Schemes the grant funding requested for 2010/11:

·                      Milton - £1,000

·                      Meldreth - £1,000

·                      Cottenham - £1,500

·                      Haslingfield - £250

·                      The Mordens & Litlington - £2,000

·                      Harston & District - £1,021

·                      Teversham - £2,086

·                      Linton - £2,739

·                      Small Villages - £3,347

·                      Histon & Impington - £1,850

Reasons for the decision:

To support a valuable community-led service within each of these Wards, in keeping with the Council’s aims and priorities.

 

The decision was made taking into consideration the amount requested, the client fees charged, the number of users and the scheme finances. 

Alternative options considered:

Option 1: Not to award funding to any / all of the schemes applying for funding.

Reason for Rejection:  The option was rejected due to the valuable work that the schemes do in the District.  The schemes provided the information required within the application process.

 

Option 2: To award any / all of the schemes funding at a different level to the amount requested.

Reason for Rejection: This option was rejected due to the total amount requested being within budget and the level of need being assessed.
