NORTH WEST CAMBRIDGE AREA ACTION PLAN: ISSUES & OPTIONS REPORT - CONSULTATION pdf icon PDF 124 KB

Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council are working together to produce an Area Action Plan to guide development on land in Cambridge City and South Cambridgeshire between Madingley Road and Huntingdon Road (the North West Cambridge Sector).  The first stage in the Area Action Plan process is the Issues & Options Report, which asks the public and key organisations about a number of issues and options for the development of this area.

The Issues & Options Report will be the subject of public consultation for a six-week period from Monday 25 September until Monday 6 November 2006.

During this time formal representations can be submitted to the Report and these will help inform the preparation of the Pre-Submission North West Cambridge Area Action Plan, which will be subject to a further six-week period of public participation in April 2007.

The new plan making system requires a Sustainability Appraisal to be carried out on Area Action Plans and for this appraisal to be made available for public comment.   This is to ensure that the issues and options can be considered in the light of information on their social, environmental and economic impacts.   As such, the following document has been prepared for consultation:

·                      Issues & Options Interim Sustainability Appraisal Report

The following supporting documents have also helped to inform the preparation of the Issues & Options Report:

·                      North West Cambridge Area Action Plan Green Belt Landscape Study, May 2006

·                      Transport Strategy for North West Cambridge, 2006

Members shortly will be receiving a copy of the North West Cambridge Area Action Plan Issues & Options Report and Sustainability Appraisal.

The attached Formal Notice and Press Release provides information about where the Issues & Options Report can be inspected and how to submit representations, which must be received by 5.00pm on Monday 6 November 2006.

If you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact the Planning Policy Team on PlanningPolicy@scambs.gov.uk.
