BT Payphone Removal - 71 telephone boxes pdf icon PDF 307 KB

Following the consultation that was launched on 30 August 2016 the following draft decision has been made in response to a proposal by British Telecommunications plc for the removal of 71 public telephone boxes across the district. The relevant Parish Councils have been advised.

 

The consultation follows an agreed process in line with Ofcom guidance

BT Payphone Removal - Cambridge Road, Fulbourn

A proposal has been received from British Telecommunications plc for the removal of a public telephone box at Cambridge Road, Fulbourn. As a result a consultation was launched on 19 October 2016.

 

The consultation will follow an agreed process in line with Ofcom guidance. The Parish Council has been informed

Linton Post Office: Proposed Move

The Post Office have proposed that Linton Post Office be moved from 5 Balsham Road to Sweet Talk News, 77 High Street. Opening hours at the new premises would be extended to 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday and 7am to 4pm on Sunday.

Freedom of Information Act Training: Thu 27 Oct at 2pm

There will be a briefing on the Freedom of Information Act for District Councillors on Thursday 27 October in the Monkfield Room from 2-3pm.

Planning Briefing: Transport Assessment, Mitigation and Travel Planning on Wed 2 Nov at 9am

On Wednesday 2 November from 9am to 10:15am, David Allatt the Transport Assessment Manager from Cambridgeshire County Council will give a briefing on transport assessment, mitigation and travel planning.

 

All District Councillors welcome.

Devolution Briefing on 10 November at 6:30pm

The Devolution Briefing, which was scheduled for Thursday 13 October has been moved to Thursday 10 November at 6:30pm, as the information from the Government will be received a month later than expected.

Corporate Services - Identification of Service Priorities for 2017-18

The Finance and Staffing Portfolio Holder

 

1.    Approved, as the basis for the development of Corporate Services and 3C Shared Services business plans for 2017-18, the emerging priorities relevant to the Finance and Staffing Portfolio and set out in paragraph 8 of the report; and

 

2.    Noted that resource requirements will be incorporated as part of the review of the Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) and development of detailed estimates.

Arising from the results of the Member Communication Needs Survey, many members highlighted the fact that residents found out about SCDC matters through the media.

 

The Council’s Communications Team will produce a weekly summary of recent news items to be published in the Bulletin to help keep members informed of recent coverage of SCDC.

Councils have spend billions of pounds putting homeless people up in bed and breakfasts, hotels and private rented homes, according to figures obtained by The Times.

 

Tuesday 25 October: Guardian: Study says 850,000 UK public sector jobs could be automated by 2030

More than 850,000 public sector jobs could be lost by 2030 through automation, according to a study conducted by Oxford University and Deloitte, the business advisory firm.

View Planning Applications

To view the list of planning applications that have recently been submitted to the Council, please visit the authority’s on-line Planning Application Search.  Once the page has loaded, you can use the Search option to set your own criteria of parish, area and date range.

 

The system will provide a range of information on current and decided applications since 1948, including a brief description of the development, reference number, decision and the date of decision.  More recent applications show the name and telephone number of the council officer who is dealing with the application.

 

Search results are presented in a collection of pages, the number of which depends on the number of results your search produces.  There are navigation tools to allow you to browse your results.

 

 

 

EXECUTIVE DECISIONS TAKEN SINCE 19 OCTOBER 2016

In accordance with the Access to Information Procedure Rules in Part 4 of the Council’s Constitution, any executive decision shall be published normally within five days of being made.  That record will bear the date on which it is published and will specify that the decision will come into force, and may then be implemented, on the expiry of 5 working days after the publication of the decision, unless called in for review by the Chairman of the Scrutiny and Overview Committee or by any five other councillors.

Resident Involvement Strategy 2016-2018

The Housing Portfolio Holder APPROVED the Resident Involvement Strategy 2016-2018.

Affordable Homes Draft Service Plan 2017/18

The Housing Portfolio Holder ENDORSED the Affordable Homes service plan actions identified in the report.

Rural Settlements List 2017-2018

The Finance and Staffing Portfolio Holderapproved the Rural Settlement List for 2017-18 as attached to the report as Appendix A, and authorised its publication.

Treasury Management Review

The Finance and Staffing Portfolio Holder noted the performance of the treasury management function, and approved the increase in maximum investment to South Cambs Limited to £35 million, subject to him receiving updated information in February 2017.
