*Mon 11th to Thurs 14th*
A14 eastbound between St Ives J26 & Bar Hill J29 (each night, 9pm-6am)

Multiple A1 closures;

*Mon 11th to Fri 15th*
A1 southbound between Alconbury & Brampton Hut (each night, 9pm-6am)

*Mon 11th to Wed 13th*
A1 southbound between Brampton Hut & Buckden (each night, 9pm-6am)

*Mon 11th to Fri 15th*
A1 northbound between Brampton Hut & Alconbury (each night, 9pm-6am)

 

Weekend closures;

Full weekend closure Ermine Street A1198 (Fri 8pm - Mon 5am)

Our official diversion route will be signposted and I’ve attached diversion maps for the A1 and A14 closures. We also have variable message signs in place that will advise drivers to follow our signs and not their satnavs.

Arising from the results of the Member Communication Needs Survey, many members highlighted the fact that residents found out about SCDC matters through the media.

 

The Council’s Communications Team will produce a weekly summary of recent news items to be published in the Bulletin to help keep members informed of recent coverage of SCDC.

Thursday 7 September 2017: Mail: Build home every 3 minutes for bursting UK

The think-tank Civitas has published a report warning that a home will have to be built every three minutes for at least 20 years to cope with rapid population growth.

 

Saturday 9 September 2017: Mail: Litter fines could double

Councils could receive powers to issue on-the-spot fines of £150 for littering under plans by government.

 

Wednesday 13 September 2017: Guardian: Councils in line for £3 million to help finance low-carbon initiatives

Ministers are reported going to offer more than £3 million for green energy projects run by cities and local authorities, such as the use of solar panels on social housing.

South Cambridgeshire Community Chest Grant Scheme

An additional £30,000 of funding has been made available via the Community Chest Scheme to help voluntary and community groups, charities and parish councils wishing to improve the quality of life for residents in South Cambridgeshire. Applicants can apply for up to £1,000 for a variety of projects:

 

·          Improvements to Community Facilities (i.e. Village Halls/Pavilions/Play Areas etc.)

·          Repairs to Historic Buildings/Monuments/Memorials

·          The Tree and Hedge planting Scheme

·          Equipment/Capital Purchase

·          Materials

·          Start-up costs (May include training of staff/volunteers, hall hire and other revenue costs)

View Planning Applications

To view the list of planning applications that have recently been submitted to the Council, please visit the authority’s on-line Planning Application Search.  Once the page has loaded, you can use the Search option to set your own criteria of parish, area and date range.

 

The system will provide a range of information on current and decided applications since 1948, including a brief description of the development, reference number, decision and the date of decision.  More recent applications show the name and telephone number of the council officer who is dealing with the application.

 

Search results are presented in a collection of pages, the number of which depends on the number of results your search produces.  There are navigation tools to allow you to browse your results.
