A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon - Planned Closures

Below are details of this week’s A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon closures. There aren’t any other closures planned until after the holidays, so this will be the last weekly parish update until the New Year.

During tonight’s A14 westbound closure the white lines between Girton and Bar Hill will be refreshed. During the overnight closure last Friday the white and black lines were refreshed on the eastbound carriageway between Bar Hill and Girton.

The complete removal of the old markings from any surface is difficult without causing damage to the existing road. Making the new markings more prominent will ensure the lane markings are clearer for all road users, without the added disruption to drivers while the patch repairs are carried out.

The traffic management team will continue to monitor these markings to ensure that they are prominent and refresh them when needed. They regularly meet to review the roadworks and they’re always keen to hear feedback, especially ways the traffic management can be made safer for road users. So please do let them know if any concerns about these are raised and we’ll investigate.

This week’s A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon closures;

Mon 18 for one night

A14 westbound Girton (J31) & Fenstanton (J27), including A1307 outbound (9pm - 6am)

Mon 18 to Thurs 21

A1 southbound between Alconbury & Brampton Hut (each night 9pm - 6am)

A1 northbound between Buckden & Brampton Hut (each night 9pm - 6am)

The official diversion route will be signposted and you can find diversion maps on the social media pages (or just email them for additional copies).

The details of closures specific to the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme are regularly updated on Facebook (www.facebook.com/a14c2h) and Twitter (@A14C2H) pages. You can also find the latest posts by searching #A14C2Hclosures.

View Planning Applications

To view the list of planning applications that have recently been submitted to the Council, please visit the authority’s on-line Planning Application Search.  Once the page has loaded, you can use the Search option to set your own criteria of parish, area and date range.

The system will provide a range of information on current and decided applications since 1948, including a brief description of the development, reference number, decision and the date of decision.  More recent applications show the name and telephone number of the council officer who is dealing with the application.
