Appointments made by the Cabinet to Advisory Groups, Joint and Outside Bodies 2006-2007

16/02/2007 - Appointment of Member to Audit Panel

On behalf of the independent group Councillor RF Bryant proposed Councillor MJ Mason as a member of Audit Panel. The Committee accepted this nomination. 


27/01/2007 - CLIMATE CHANGE GROUP

Council RESOLVED that:

 

(a)               A ‘Task and Finish’ body called the Climate Change Working Group be established, consisting of nine District Council Members, appointed on a proportional basis, supported by relevant Council officers, and by independent experts co-opted as and when required, and detailed to present its report to Council within a set period.

 

(b)               The Terms of Reference set out in paragraph 5 be approved, subject to reference being made for the group to advise on actions to be undertaken under the Nottingham Declaration on Climate Change.

 

(c)               The membership of the group include a representative from the Local Strategic Partnership.

 

(d)               The inclusion of £3,000 in the 2007-2008 estimates by way of budget for the group be approved, and

 

(e)               The Democratic Services Section be requested to convene meetings within guidelines set by Members.


29/09/2006 - Climate Change Group (Scrutiny and Overview Committee 20 July 2006)

Council RESOLVED that:

 

(a)               a Climate Change Group be established, meetings to be held on a set day at a set time, preferably on the same day as another meeting with a large attendance, as this might assist in adhering to sustainability principles regarding transport costs and member and officer time; and

 

(b)               costs be split proportionally between all portfolios or borne by Council as a whole because of the important impact of climate change on all portfolios. 


20/09/2006 - Call-in to Scrutiny & Overview Committee

Cabinet, having considered the implications of the access to information procedure rules, scheduled a meeting directly after Council on 28 September. 


22/07/2006 - Call-In: Climate Change Advisory Group

AGREED            to refer this matter to Council, instead of Cabinet, with the following recommendation:

 

(a)               Council should establish a Climate Change Meeting to be held on a set day at a set time, preferably on the same day as another meeting with a large attendance. This might assist in adhering to sustainability principles regarding transport costs and member and officer time.
