In light of the size of the newly amalgamated Resources and Staffing and Information and Customer Services Portfolios, Councillors Mrs VG Ford and RMA Manning accepted appointment as an informal sub-group to assist Councillor Edwards with finance matters.

4.

Appointment of Executive Member to attend the Local Government Conference

Subject to Council decision, to appoint a member of Cabinet to attend the Annual LGA Conference to be held 4-7 July 2006 in Bournemouth. 

 

The Leader normally attends, together with one other Cabinet member and one non-executive member appointed by full Council.

Minutes:

Council had agreed not to send any members to attend the Local Government Conference. 

5.

Appointment of Representative to East of England Regional Assembly

To appoint the Council’s representative.

 

The Leader has normally represented the Council. The Annual meeting is to take place on 21 July 2006 at Newmarket Racecourse, Suffolk.

that the Leader be appointed the Council’s representative to the East of England Regional Assembly.

6.

Appointments to Various Bodies

The Community, Arts and Sports Advisory Group is due to meet before the next scheduled meeting of Cabinet (6 June), the Northstowe Development Trust Working Group and South Cambs Local Strategic Partnership Board are due to meet five days after (13 June). Cabinet is invited to appoint members to those three groups at this meeting.

Membership of this Group was decided at Cabinet on 12 January 2006 with all 11 self-nominated Members appointed. In addition the Community Development Portfolio Holder also attended. There are 15 preferences to date:
